Transcripts, fetched or pasted

Beside the length, the card says one of three things: Transcript fetched from Loom, Transcript pasted, or No transcript. That line is the whole status, and it is there so a summary is never written against a blank.

Loom returns a transcript only for a recording shared with anyone who has the link. If you changed the sharing after adding the video, Retry fetch asks again. It is not a published API, so it can come back with nothing, and the card says so plainly rather than pretending.

Open the transcript panel in Loom, copy it, and paste it into the box on the card. Click Save transcript. The line under the title changes to Transcript pasted, and nothing downstream cares which of the two routes it took.

Once there is a transcript, the box is replaced by a Read the transcript disclosure, so the words are there to check against when you read the summary but are not in the way the rest of the time.

Pasting a new transcript over a summary you already approved clears that summary. The card warns you before you do it. The reason is simple: an approved summary describes a particular set of words, and swapping the words underneath it would leave a client reading something nobody checked.
