The pre-install pack

What the client clears before install day and what happens once the crew arrives, counted back from the install date. Printed and handed over, with no client link.

What you need first

An install date on the project
Your pre-install terms on the Terms tab in Settings

Turning up to a kitchen that has not been cleared costs a day and the day cannot be got back. By the end of this page you will have a pack drafted against the install date, approved, and open in a tab ready to print.

Set the install date first

The pack counts backwards from it, so the date has to be on the job before the draft means anything. It lives on the Build tab, in the Install and aftercare card.

Click Draft the pre-install pack on the Documents tab

The card says what it is: "What the client clears before install day and what happens once the crew arrives. Counted back from the install date."

Read the three figures

Install is the day. Client ready by is the day they have to be finished clearing, worked back from it by your own terms. Things to do is how many items the pack asks of them.

Click Preview, then Approve

Preview opens the whole pack as it will print, so you read it before the client does. Approve is plain, with no link, because this is a document you hand over rather than send.

Click Open the pack and print it

It opens on your letterhead, styled for paper, so printing it from the browser drops the navigation and prints the document alone. Save a PDF the same way if you would rather attach it. If anything on it is missing, a note at the top names what, and the gaps are left blank rather than filled in for you.

Move the install date and draft it again

The pack is a snapshot of the date it was drafted against. If install moves, the dates in it do not follow, so discard it and draft again. Moving the date does move the follow-up schedule, which is a different thing and is covered two guides on.
