Copy a follow-up and mark it sent
Read the drafted note where it stands, copy the whole thing to your clipboard, send it from your own inbox, and tell Casework it went.
What you need first
- A follow-up that has come due and drafted overnight
A due follow-up is two presses and a paste. By the end of this page one will have left your own inbox in your own name, and the row will be gone from the list.
Find the row, in any of the three places it appears
It is on the dashboard under Needs you, in the Inbox under Follow-ups, and on the Follow-ups page under Due now. All three are the same row and finishing it anywhere finishes it everywhere.
Open it where it stands
The row expands in place rather than opening a page, and shows the Subject and the whole body, written in your words with the actual room off the job in it. Read it before you send it.

- 1The subject and the body, drafted from your template
- 2Copy email, which takes both at once
- 3Mark as sent, after you have sent it
Click Copy email
Subject and body go on the clipboard together. There is nothing to select and nothing to reformat.
Paste it into your own inbox and send it
Schedule it for the due date if you want it to land in the morning. It goes from your address, so the reply comes back to you and the thread is yours. Casework never sends in your name.
Come back and click Mark as sent
The row leaves the list. Nothing is marked read and there is no tidying up: a row is on the list because a fact is true, and it goes when the fact changes.
Use Reject and redraft if the words are wrong for this client
Rejecting clears the draft and puts it back to be written again. If the wording is wrong for every client rather than this one, the line under the buttons tells you where to go: the template in Settings.
What happens next
That is the end of one job, from first enquiry to the fifth year. The Inbox and phone section is about working all of them at once, from a desk and from a driveway.
