Photos on a milestone
Six build steps, a camera on each one, and a caption that waits for your approval. Casework never shows the client a build-progress page.
What you need first
- A project in production
- Your build steps on the Jobs tab in Settings
The build timeline is for you and your crew, not for the client. By the end of this page a step will carry a date and a photo, and you will know exactly where its words end up.
Open the job on your phone and tap Build
If the timeline has not started, one button does it: Start the timeline, which puts your own build steps on this project. The line under it says photos and captions hang off them.
Date a step as you finish it
Tap Take photos
It opens the camera on a phone and the file picker at a desk. The photos are stored against that step, so a picture of the doors going on is filed with the doors going on rather than in a roll of four hundred.
Write the caption, or let it draft
Each step carries a caption box with Save the caption and, where AI drafting is on for your shop, Draft one. A drafted caption is written from the photos, the step and the project record, and it goes nowhere until you approve it.
Approve it from your inbox
A drafted caption appears on the list as Approve a photo caption, naming the step it belongs to. Approving marks the words fit to go out with the photo. The step itself says so while it waits: waiting in your inbox.
Know where the photos are meant to live
Casework never shows a client a build-progress page. There is no photo feed, no week-three update and no client link for any of this. If your crew uses a photo portal, the Photo portal card on the same tab creates the project there and pulls its photo events back onto these steps. The captions are for the place your clients already look.
