Guides / Getting started

Log your first project

Create the job and the client's intake link in one press, then either send the link or type the measurements yourself.

What you need first

  • A client's name. Everything else on the form is optional

By the end of this guide there is a job on your board with an intake link waiting to be sent. It takes under a minute, and it is the fifth of the six setup steps.

Press New project

The button sits at the top right of Projects. The page that opens is headed New project, under the line Creates the project and an intake link to send the client.

Fill in what you have

Client name and Client email are the two the form insists on. The email is the address every client link is eventually sent to, so the form will not submit without it.

Phone, Address, Location, Source, Timeline and Notes are all optional, and a lead that arrived as three words in a voicemail is still a project worth logging.

Source is what later tells you which lead channels are worth the money, so it is worth a second now.

The New project page, with the client fields, the location and source pickers, and the Create project button
  1. 1Client name, required
  2. 2Client email, required. Everything else is optional
  3. 3Create project makes the job and its intake link together

Press Create project

You land on the job's Overview tab at stage Lead. The card at the top of it is your next move on this job, and nothing else on the page competes with it.

Decide how the measurements arrive

Two routes, and they close the same step.

Send the client the intake link and let them describe the rooms themselves. See Send the intake link.

Or type the measurements yourself on the Specs tab, which is the right move when you have already stood in the room. The Specification card takes Lower run, Upper run, Full height and Island, in feet, and Save specification stores them.

What happens next

One row left on the setup card, and it is the one the other five were for: Send your first estimate.
