Move the stage with the sheet
The stage is one control at the top of every job. On a phone it comes up as a sheet with all eleven stages and the two outcomes kept apart from the rest.
What you need first
- A project open on your phone
Stage is the only thing in Casework that says where a job actually is, and it is what every list and every figure filters on. By the end of this page you will have moved one, and know which move does something else as well.
Tap the control under the client's name
It shows the stage the job is in now. At a desk it drops a list. On a phone the same control comes up as a sheet from the bottom of the screen, where a thumb can reach all of it.
Read the sheet
It is headed Move this job to and carries the nine working stages in order: Lead, Estimate sent, Deposit paid, In design, Proposal sent, Signed, In production, Installing, Follow-ups. The one the job is in now carries a tick.

Notice that Closed and Lost sit under a rule
They are outcomes, not stages, and they are separated so nobody taps one reaching for Follow-ups. Choosing Lost asks you why, and that reason is what the reactivation list reads years later.
Tap the stage and let the sheet close
The move is recorded against the job with today's date, and the rail under the header fills in. No confirmation, because a stage tapped by mistake is a stage tapped back.
Know the two moves that do more
Deposit paid is set for you when you mark the design fee paid, so you rarely tap it. Signed locks the specification, because after signing the spec is what was agreed.
Let the lists follow
The dashboard's filters, the pipeline figures and the Waiting on client count are all stage. Moving a job is the whole of the bookkeeping, and there is no second place to update.
