Guides / Clients and intake

Log a lead

One form, two required fields, and the job is on the board with its own intake link. A lead that lives in Casework is a lead somebody else can pick up.

What you need first

  • A client's name and the email address they can be reached at

By the end of this guide the job exists, it sits under the Lead stage on your board, and it has a private intake link waiting to go out. It takes under a minute.

Press New project

The button is at the top right of Projects. The page is headed New project under the line Creates the project and an intake link to send the client, which is the thing worth knowing: the link is made here, not later.

Fill in the two the form insists on

Client name and Client email. The email is where every client link eventually goes, so the form will not submit without it.

The New project page, with the client fields, the location and source pickers, and the Create project button
  1. 1Client name, required
  2. 2Client email, required
  3. 3Source. The Impact page counts jobs by this later

Fill in what else you have, and skip what you do not

Phone, Address, Location, Source, Timeline and Notes are all optional. A lead that arrived as three words in a voicemail is still worth logging.

Source takes one press and is the only thing that later tells you which lead channels are worth paying for. Location is the zone the job is in, and it is what the reactivation list filters on years afterwards.

Press Create project

You land on the job's Overview tab at stage Lead. The card at the top is the one thing you owe this job next, and on a job this new it reads Send the intake link.

Below the tabs there is a stage rail from Lead through to Follow-ups, with a date under each one the job has reached.

Know what was made with it

Creating the project also minted an intake link for it, good for thirty days. That is why there is nothing else to press before you can send a client something.

If you already stood in the room and have the measurements, you do not have to send it at all. The Specs tab takes them directly, and the estimate prices from whatever is on that card however it got there.

What happens next

Send the link, and see what the client is asked: Send the intake link.
